Japanese artists Dehara Yukinori and Hideyuki Katsumata, and Jaejung Beck of South Korea have banded together for an exhibition at Hong Kong's Good Vibes Only called "TORANG74." Many of the works on display seek to celebrate East Asian heritage, with the name of the exhibition an amalgamation of the Japanese (tora) and Korean (horangi) words for "tiger."

The last part of the exhibition name comes from the artists' shared birth year, 1974, which is also the year of the tiger in the Chinese zodiac.

Despite what the artists have in common, each uses a different artistic technique, so expect digital drawings, spray paintings, and illustrative prints that draw upon traditional East Asian motifs, with abstract alien figures thrown in for good measure. Dragons, tigers, and demons crop up throughout, with each artist tapping into the unspoken cultural connection that binds them using humor, bold splashes of color, and a street art vibe.

The "TORANG74" exhibition is on at Good Vibes Only until September 17, opening hours 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
