Waste not, want not – Russell Athletic has once again teamed up with New York City-based studio, Ceeze to deliver the Reclaimed Hoodie Program, creating brand new products from fabric waste.

Is there any garment quite as loved as the humble hoodie? Chilling at home, layering up for winter 'fits, a quick trip down the shops, or stolen by friends, hoodies are the ultimate comforter, and we've all got one (or two) that we've loved to death. Just like any garment, however, plenty go to waste, and the industry has been called to action to make meaningful change.

Fabric waste is a huge problem – seasonal offcuts often go unused, discarded, forgotten about, or in landfills. With so many brands and creatives out there, why not utilize those scraps to create something new?

That's precisely what Russell Athletic's collaborations with Ceeze have looked to do.

In 2021, the duo teamed up to deconstruct sitting hooded sweatshirt stock, combining it with cactus leather to create a series of sustainable Varsity Jackets. Claiming these pieces to be sustainable without making use of sleeves and hoods would, of course, be hypocritical, leading to the creation of the Reclaim Hoodie Program.

Reclaiming and upcycling these unused fabric swatches, Ceeze has created a limited run of cut and sew hoodies, each of which is unique and asymmetrical. Appearing in RA's classic sportswear palettes of navy and grey, you might have your new favorite hoodie on your radar.

Russell Athletic x Ceeze's Reclaimed Hoodie Program is available in limited quantities via the NTWRK app.
