In a recent discussion with Slash Film, Quentin Tarantino finally spoke-up about what's going on with the Star Trek movie that has been rumored since 2017. And as it turns out, not only is the project actually a very real probability, but the script has already been written.

"It’s a very big possibility. I haven’t been dealing with those guys for a while cause I’ve been making my movie," Tarantino revealed, referencing the much-hyped Once Upon a Time in Hollywood that's set to premiere on July 26 this year.

That doesn't mean, however, that the cogs haven't begun turning already. "We’ve talked about a story and a script. The script has been written and when I emerge my head like Punxsutawney Phil" — aka the furry creature of Groundhog Day fame — "post-Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, we’ll pick up talking about it again."

No information has been revealed as to what kind of Star Trek film Tarantino would create and where or if it would sit within the Kelvin Timeline, which is where the J. J. Abrams movies take place.
