Editor’s Notes: Few brands have the knack for a collaboration quite like Palace. No matter the brand, its history, or its origin, the London imprint finds a way to make its skateboarding roots work collaboratively with any outfit.

Whether it’s luxury fashion houses (Gucci), iconic department stores (Harrods), sports teams (Juventus), or even beer brands (Stella Artois), nowhere seems off limits for Palace — which is admirable, in a sense.

Well, another week, another collaboration, as the London label revealed its link-up with adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, who are closing out their 20 Years: Recoded celebrations with this collaboration.

The collection — which arrives with a campaign featuring Zinedine Zidane and skate legend Lucas Puig — sees Palace reinterpret archival pieces from throughout Y-3’s history, putting their spin on a legacy of iconic designs.

The collaboration also sees the return of the forgotten Y-3 YUUTO in white, green, and black, a sneaker initially revealed back in 2004, and later revived in 2019 in an understated triple black colorway — a stark contrast to two thirds of its new Palace collaboration.

Comprising a textile upper with rubberized locks, a concealed internal lacing system, and an adiPRENE sole unit, each sneaker is capped off with co-branded Palace and Y-3 detailing, with the white take featuring a bold red English rose which also runs throughout the apparel.

Landing online on November 11, Palace’s latest collaboration might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’ll certainly be someone’s. That being said, if you aren’t digging it, there’ll probably be another collab sometime next week, so you won’t have to wait too long.
