Double Tap to Zoom

Virgil Abloh has just confirmed that he will be releasing 50 Off-White™ x Nike Dunk Lows this summer as part of his upcoming, collaborative “Dear Summer...” collection.

Abloh posted a full look at the packaging for the Dunks, of which several colorways have been teased and leaked over the past few months, to his Instagram and gave us our best look yet at the box. In addition to holes (which have featured on his Air Jordan 5 in the past) and tape — giving the box a used and vintage feeling — one side of the packaging features a set of 50 numbers.

This suggests that there will indeed be 50 colorways of the Off-White™ x Nike Dunk Low coming and that each box will see the corresponding number ticked (as has been previously seen on leaked images).

Abloh captioned his post with: “@off____white™ c/o @nike, summer ©2021 collection name is “Dear Summer”... it’s a whole thing...it was ©2017 i started drawing on those 10 Nike shoes. in my mind they are not literal shoes, but are more like sculptures a full-on art object made in multiple editions, somewhat scarce. they exist in a space all their own. where the plot thickens on the design side is the portal to tell stories as vivid as a HOV triple entendre or a Jeezy ad-lib...”

What started as ten sneakers in 2017 has morphed into an era-defining partnership that will have spawned nearly 100 pairs of Off-White™ x Nike shoes when the 50 dunks are released.

No word yet on when the sneakers will be available, but it’s highly likely that we’ll see a release in the coming months. Considering the number of colorways, it wouldn’t be surprising to see certain colorways be geographically locked. As always, stay tuned for updates.
