Nike has addressed rumors that it suspended sales of Kobe Bryant merchandise following the NBA legend's sudden death. Rumors suggested that the move was made to deter resellers profiting from the tragedy, but this has now been debunked. Speaking to Forbes, a Nike spokesperson revealed that the company did not pull products, it sold out.

After Kobe Bryant-related products sold out, Nike replaced them with a tribute page."Kobe was one of the greatest athletes of his generation and has had an immeasurable impact on the world of sport and the community of basketball. He was a beloved member of the Nike family. We will miss him greatly. Mamba forever."

According to reports, a new colorway of Bryant’s Kobe 5 Protro sneaker was scheduled to launch February 7, 2020, and Nike is reevaluating whether to proceed or hold off on the release. Several resellers have also said they will not sell Bryant’s merch.  While StockX has vowed to donate all proceeds from this week’s sales of Kobe-related products to the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Family Foundation. For now it is unclear how Nike will proceed, keep it here for more updates.
