Editor's Notes: Nike has kept its foot on the gas with Dunk Low and Jordan 4 releases in 2021, with both silhouettes receiving a high frequency of retro and original colorways. While many might argue that there are too many Dunks, we highly doubt the same sentiments exist for releases under the ISPA (Improvise. Scavenge. Protect. Adapt.) subdivision.

This may come as no surprise given the relatively short life of ISPA – which launched in November 2018 – but releases have been somewhat limited. It feels like things are changing, with a renewed focus on delivering new silhouettes and colorways to appease the fans looking for something more experimental.

It appears that the tabi-toed Drifter Split is receiving particular attention. Despite only releasing in late 2020, the silhouette is about to receive its fourth colorway, not including the full-toed Drifter Gator. Most recently, the Drifter Split got a full premium treatment courtesy of BUAISOU. These pairs were hand-dyed and released under the monicker "Indigo Dye."

Next up, Nike is keeping things "NTRL," or natural in layman's terms. As the name would suggest, this colorway completely strips back on the premium features offered by its "Indigo Dye" counterpart. The shoe features an upper constructed of suede and natural hemp atop recycled ZoomX midsole matched with a cork heel clip and outsole.

Even more so than the "Black," "Grey Fog," and "Indigo Dye" iterations of the shoe, the upcoming "NTRL" has a handcrafted aesthetic that lives and breathes "Improvise. Scavenge. Protect. Adapt."
