Netflix's dark comedy Insatiable has been renewed for a second season. The coming of age story follows Patty (Debby Ryan) who endures high school bullying at the expense of her weight. Following sudden weight loss and a sharp surge in popularity, Patty seeks revenge on all those who wronged her.

The initial trailer for the series sparked outrage from viewers who accused the series of fat shaming. An online petition on Change.org urging for the show to be canceled received over 100,000 signatures. The show didn't fare any better with critics, early reviews declared the series "offensive" and said it was "the worst Netflix Orginal series."

Despite the backlash, series creator Lauren Gussis defend the series on Twitter: “This show is a cautionary tale about how damaging it can be to believe the outsides are more important — to judge without going deeper. Please give the show a chance.”

Insatiable's Debby Ryan stars alongside Dallas Roberts, Alyssa Milano, and Christopher Gorham and is expected to return sometime in 2019.

Elsewhere, Netflix shares the trailer for the Coen Brothers' 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.'
