Marvel is apparently working on a female Muslim superhero movie, as reported by the BBC.

In a new interview, Infinity War producer Kevin Feige revealed, “Ms. Marvel… is definitely sort of in the works.” In the comics, Ms. Marvel is the alias of Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager from New Jersey.

Marvel already has a female-led superhero film in the works, with Brie Larson starring in the Captain Marvel stand-alone slated for release in March 2019. For those unfamiliar with Ms. Marvel, Feige explained that she is “another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel,” before adding that she’d be introduced after Captain Marvel makes her debut next year.

While no casting news has been announced, some fans are already calling for Priyanka Chopra, who voiced Ms. Marvel in the mobile video game Marvel: Avengers Academy, to land the role.
