Since Marine Serre first made waves in the fashion scene, the designer has spent a lot of time focusing on sustainability, upcycling, and regenerating objects to create her clothing and accessories.

Using deadstock fabrics and adapting old garments, we've seen plenty of cool releases, and now Marine Serre is extending her practice into jewelry.

No one could make cutlery look but Marine Serre, as she's transformed kitchen utensils like forks and knives into earrings and necklaces. Of course, pieces are also branded with her signature crescent moon logo, and there are different shapes and styles crafted from different pieces of the kitchen tools.

In addition to forks, spoons, and knives, Marine has also been playing with a selection of shells, pearls and beads that have been collected from all over the world. Paired with gold chains and metals, the pieces set out to evoke a "shamanic post-apocalyptic aesthetic."

As we're celebrating Earth Day today, it goes without saying that Marine Serre's focus on sustainability and regenerative materials is paving the way for more brands to follow suit. When presented with the state of our environment, it makes sense to look for creative solutions, and re-purpose everyday objects when doing so.

If you're looking to snag some of the jewelry pieces, they're currently available online at Marine Serre's website, together with plenty of apparel pieces that you can feel good about purchasing.
