Leave it to Jennifer Lawrence to make the most anti-fashion footwear look fashionable.

The actor, who has a penchant for making basic shoes like Birkenstocks and Sambas look not-so-basic, braved New York City's sweltering summer weather in an easy, breezy outfit. Pairing an oversized button-down with flow-y, silk pajama bottoms, Lawrence looked luxe yet laidback — nothing out of the ordinary for the queen of quiet luxury herself.

Lawrence's shoes, however, add an unexpected touch of futurism to the 'fit. Instead of cool-girl ballet flats or The Row jelly sandals, she donned a pair of chunky-soled slippers that look something like space-age Subus.

We haven't yet managed to identify who makes the kicks. To quote the famous Vine: "What are thoooose?!"

Lawrence's latest 'fit follows in a long string of style successes. There was the time she wore JW Anderson's "I TOLD YA" tee, seen on Zendaya in Challengers. We can't forget when she made walking the dog look totally glamorous. And of course there are her famous Cannes flip-flops, which were kind of an accident but a slay all the same.

It's not just her style that has drummed up recent press. On Tuesday, Variety reported that Lawrence will star in A24's Why Don’t You Love Me?, an adaptation of Paul B. Rainey's graphic novel of the same name. Lawrence is also set to appear in The Wives, a murder mystery inspired by the Real Housewives franchise.

Oh, to be J Law!
