Jacob Elodi May be braver than anyone who's ever lived. It's a given that the Euphoria star has great style — we've all seen and admired his fancy watches and exquisite luxury handbags — but Elordi's heroic indifference to walking the streets of Los Angeles barefoot is truly the stuff of legends.

If anything he's ever done, should inform Elordi's future legacy, this is it.

Note that the above photo of Elordi strolling sans shoes to retrieve his morning joe is actually from 2021 though it inexplicably began popping back up on social media on April 13, 2023.

Frankly, though, now is as good a time as any to celebrate the majesty, the mystery, the horrifying spectacle of Jacob Elordi braving the streets of Los Angeles barefoot.

If you need some framing to elucidate what makes this moment worthy of a breakdown, consider this: walking around any metropolitan area is inherently gross.

Dogs pee everywhere, trash is all over the place, people are spilling drinks/food/bodily fluids every which way: you want to wear shoes, suffice to say.

Me personally, I've been germaphobic since even prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the idea of walking around even a small town without anything covering my feet is simply vile. I can't even touch the subway handrails without instinctively reaching for hand sanitizer — I'm sick! I know!

But even still, walking around barefoot in any city, be it New York or Los Angeles, is even further beyond the pale and I don't know what made Elordi step out without shoes or socks to his name.

Elordi's clearly dressed to go out, going off the beanie, Sandy Liang-style fleece jacket, jeans, and bag, so why couldn't he have at least put on some flip-flops, just for the sake of saving me the psychic trauma of imagining the mere concept of touching the godforsaken city streets?

In fairness, he is Australian and, as some always-helpful Twitter commenters mentioned, perhaps that puts him more at ease with letting the dogs out.

Indeed, barefoot is legal, though I don't really think it ought to be. At least, not in this case.
