Spend time scrolling through Isamaya Ffrench's Instagram feed, and it becomes clear that she's a fan of skincare gadgets, from lasers to LED masks to facial massagers. Now, the makeup artist has created her very own lifting and contouring device.

Ffrench's two-year-old beauty brand, ISAMAYA, has teamed up with FACEGYM — a collection of "facial fitness" spas located around the world — to launch Sculpt 01, a multipurpose facial massage tool that looks straight out of the future.

The collaboration blossomed from Ffrench's longtime friendship with FACEGYM founder, Inge Theron. "We have been competing for quite some time on who has the most [skincare] tools," Theron said. "[Ffrench] has been a regular client at FACEGYM and I have watched in awe as she has broken boundaries... I think she is the most exciting artist in the industry today."

Sculpt 01 is all you need for an at-home face workout. It's most easily described as a tricked-out Gua Sha stone, a curved tool used for Gua Sha — a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves scraping a flat edge against strategic points of the body. When applied to the face, Gua Sha is said to help reduce puffiness, improve circulation, and promote collagen production.

Sculpt 01 combines the flat, curved edges of a Gua Sha stone with comb-like teeth — intended for use on the neck and scalp to stimulate lymphatic drainage and relieve tension, respectively — and a ball tip, which can be pressed along the brow for a lifting effect.

At first glance, the tool might look complicated, but Ffrench insists there's not one "right" way to use it. "Everyone has their own landscape when it comes to face structure — just play with it and find what works for your features and your needs, be it a bone scraping massage or gentle lymphatic drainage."

(If you do need a little extra help, Sculpt 01 comes with a QR code that links to video tutorials featuring Ffrench and FACEGYM trainers.)

Despite the fact that Ffrench now boasts her very own skincare tool, she has no plans to stop growing her collection of beauty contraptions.

"Last year I went to Taiwan and bought 17 face massage tools from a single shop, that’s how obsessed I am," she said. "My collection ranges from ancient-looking, beautifully crafted objects to dangerous-looking weapons. I’ve also got a few electrical devices for which you can only use your imagination! Maybe I should do a YouTube video reviewing them all. "
