Iceberg
1 / 3

For Pre-fall 2019, Iceberg takes a hike, literally, into the snowy Italian Alps. This isn’t to say that the luxe Italian brand’s winterwears are strictly sporty; creative director James Long mixes cultural influences from punk to pop art to keep shoppers on their toes – in more ways than one.

First up, are a pair of urban trek runners that glide straight into sneakerboot territory. Its focus on hybrid styles epitomize Iceberg’s function-meets-design philosophy, and, arriving in three contrasting colorways, the shoe spans the full style spectrum. One keeps it cold in icy-fresh white with taupe, light grey, and dark grey accents, as well as a tinge of trend-conscious fluro-green lining the inner tongue.

The other steps out in a bold punk-grunge medley of scarlet red, light grey, black, and tan patchworks, with thick, black soles and a streak of hot pink. Laced up with grey and red mountaineer laces, the third colorway combines wavy red and white quarters with Y2K silver uppers.

With these new drops, Iceberg takes note of the fashion’s fondness for throwback looks – especially in the realm of nostalgic sneaker reissues –, harking back to the youth cultures of yesteryear and updates them as we cruise into a whole new decade.

These runners sit within a wide range of remixed prints in eye-catching colors that make up Iceberg’s Pre-Fall collection. Some standouts include a classic twill shirt dress spliced with frenetic puzzle graphics, a fair-isle knit sweater punched up by acid green segments, and a tartan mini-kilt featuring a collision of multi-hued logos.
