Danish label HELIOT EMIL took the term “on flames” to another level on day two of Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2023, after quite literally sending a model down the runway engulfed in actual flames.

The Copenhagen-based outfit — which was founded by brothers Julius and Victor Juul 2016 — was presenting its expansive FW23 collection in the south-west of the French capital, in front of a packed and expectant crowd.

After making its fashion week debut at Milan SS17, HELIOT EMIL has since garnered a reputation for its experimental approach to fashion and pushing the semantic dialogue within the creative industry.

Its collections — which are both unisex and mostly monochrome — tend to take inspiration from HELIOT EMIL's Scandinavian roots, which are of course typically minimalist and then injected with notes of techy detailing.

At first glance HELIOT EMIL might look like any other Scandinavian brand, but upon closer inspection it's anything but. I mean, how many other brands can set alight to their gear and meander down a runway wearing it?
