Grimes has shared a demo for a new song called "Pretty Dark." Uploading the track with accompanying visuals to YouTube, she insists that it's “not a single” and will not appear on the next Grimes album, which is apparently "taking too long" according to an Instagram post. According to the description on YouTube, "Pretty Dark" hails from an AR book/musical she's working on. Check out the song and video below.

In addition, Grimes also explains that she wants to make music and accompanying AR "sub-members" within Grimes under different names that she feels doesn't fit the moniker. "im bored of being so precious abt music and also feeling boxed in by the Grimes branding and I have this whole other world that's rly fun to write for.. " she explains. The character in the video above is named Dark.

If her description is anything to go by, we can expect more new music from Grimes before her album drops. “while im finishing my album im just gonna start casually dropping stuff as I see fit,” she writes.

At the end of 2018, she released the single "We Appreciate Power" with HANA, and also featured on Poppy's song "Play Destroy."
