Was the ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale Teased in This Season 1 Poster All Along?
A poster for the first season of HBO’s Game of Thrones may have foretold the ending of the entire show.
Almost a year has passed since we saw the three-eyed raven, aka Bran Stark, named the new Lord of the Six Kingdoms. But back in 2011 when the series premiered, that would have seemed like an almost impossible outcome.
However, a season one poster may have called it from the very start. The image in question sees Bran's father, Ned Stark seated at Iron Throne. Most GoT fans will recognize this iconic image, but what has often gone unnoticed, is the black raven perched on the throne beside him. It is plausible that the raven foreshadows Bran's inevitable acquisition of the Six Kingdoms. (Of course, Bran never ascends to the Iron Throne, which was destroyed by Drogo in episode five of the final season.)
Bran did, however, win the Game of Thrones. So, was the raven in the poster the ultimate Easter Egg or the coffee cup all over again?
