For Ferragamo’s new Spring/Summer sneakers, it’s all in the details.

Hot on the heels of the Italian label’s appointment of Maximilian Davis as creative director, Ferragamo unveils a running shoe that elevates the sporty footwear staple. What makes the shoe stand out is the sole, fashioned in the shape of the label’s signature tubular Gancini symbol. It repeats the shape three times in decreasing size, resulting in a holey design that recalls On Running’s cloud sole.

As is the case with all things Ferragamo, details such as hand-stitching give the shoe a premium feel. Sweetening the deal, the sneaker is constructed of knit fabric and suede tanned using an eco-minded, metal-free process.

Maximillian Davis has operated as Ferragamo’s new creative director for a year, as he was appointed in March 2022 and made his debut in the fall at Milan Fashion Week for the SS23 season. The ready-to-wear collection was a sultry and chic take on Ferragamo’s classic style. While Davis’ new running shoes are more practical than sexy, they continue Davis’ practice of using the Gancini symbol to accentuate the heel of the shoe, as he did with footwear throughout his first RTW collection.

Available online for $995, the shoes send a clear message: At Ferragamo, Davis is putting his best foot forward.
