After hinting at a return in Jerry Seinfeld's new season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, TMZ reports that Eddie Murphy is in talks with Netflix about a series of stand-up specials.

Netflix has become well known for offering comedians lucrative amounts of money for exclusive stand-up specials, as Dave Chappelle landed $60 million for three specials in 2017, and Chris Rock secured $40 million for two just one year prior. According to sources close to Murphy, Netflix is offering the 58-year-old actor/comedian somewhere in the ballpark of $70 million for an undisclosed amount of specials.

It's been years since Murphy took the stage to share his comedic gift, but again, he did recently speak on a possible return to stand-up on Jerry Seinfeld's Netflix show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, insisting it's all about timing.
