This week, the Canadian crooner and proud McMansion owner Drake took to his stories to reveal a peek at his upcoming collaboration with Nike. Rumors have swirled about Aubrey teaming up with the swoosh since he and Virgil appeared as Rosalia’s camo-clad bodyguards at the brand’s big 2020 presentation in New York this year. And now we have confirmation that a capsule of items dedicated to his upcoming “Certified Lover Boy” album does indeed exist.

Posted by OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib then reposted by Drake, the images — which follow speculation about a pink Nike jacket worn in Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” in June, as well as a dubious leak of an OVO AF1 — reveal pairs of black and white co-branded crew socks. And another image reveals the socks again, as well as what looks like a cobranded tennis hat with a lipstick stain motif. Another image shows an amorphous black piece of fabric with what looks like an embroidered Certified Lover Boy monogram.

Our first thought when we saw the socks: Wait...where have we seen a small red heart as a logo before?

While Drake is clearly not Diet Prada-ing Comme des Garcons Play’s signature red heart logo (right?), it’s strange that neither he nor Nike considered the similarity in branding to another one of the Swoosh’s close collaborators.

While the jury is still out on when, what, and how Drake’s first big collab with the brand will look like, we like the idea that he’ll continue making Canal Street versions of Rei Kawakubo’s merch.
