DJ Khaled and Drake have finally dropped off their joint tracks "Greece" and "Popstar," and fans have a lot to say.
The We The Best boss released the highly-anticipated singles at midnight Friday, after weeks of teasing the collaborations on social media. "Pop Star" is a signature hip hop banger from the megastars. Over the bouncy Khaled-produced track Drake brags about his pop star status and name-drops Scooter Braun, Rihanna, and Selena. On "Greece" Drake croons to a lover about the perks of his multi-million-dollar lifestyle – jet setting, designer shopping sprees, the works – and even delivers some lines in French. However, what really stands out is just how much the 6 God sounds like fellow Torontonian, The Weeknd.
"Greece" dropped alongside some signature Khaledesque visuals, featuring an animated owl with a key in its mouth flying over – you guessed it – Greece. Watch the ridiculous video below.
DJ Khaled revealed that the Drake tracks would feature on his upcoming album and has been teasing his owl-key imagery for a minute now. The music mogul repeatedly teased his "chunes" with Drake in a series of videos and posts, which featured Khaled rocking his favorite animal print shirt with an owl – symbolizing Drake – always clutching gold keys in its beak.
With his passionate social media campaign, Khaled fully capitalized on the hype surrounding new Drake music, which fans have been waiting for months for.
