What We’re Saying: Birkenstock has teamed up with four of Central Saint Martins' most promising designers for a collaboration reimagining its staple silhouettes. Among those chosen to participate in the project is YEEZY affiliate, Dingyun Zhang.

Having become increasingly known for his oversized puffers and exaggerated track pants, Zhang draws from the former for his standout Birkenstock collab. We ultimately find the budding young designer transforming the brand's iconic Arizona sandal to deliver two colorway executions that are appropriately being called "Cosy."

Informed by futuristic outerwear — and more specifically, oversized puffers — the Cosy sandal boasts padded natural leather on the upper and an anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed below. The footbed is covered in premium nappa leather to give the wearer unmatched cushioning and comfort with each step. The collaborative shoe is then marked with a silver branded heel cup to complete the design.

Offered in two black and white colorways — one with black straps and a white sole and the other with white straps and a black sole — Dingyun Zhang's pillow-like Birkenstock sandals are available now online. After picking up a pair, you can learn more about the burgeoning Chinese designer by reading our recent interview here.
