Days after announcing a Netflix limited series, Colin Kaepernick has now inked a production deal with Disney. According to The New York Times, Kaepernick will produce “scripted and unscripted stories that explore race, social injustice and the quest for equity,” with projects appearing on various Disney platforms including ESPN.

The first-look deal gives Disney the right of first refusal over anything Kap's company, Ra Vision Media, conjures up. There is currently a documentary series in the works, centered around the last five years of Kaepernick's life after he began kneeling during the national anthem before NFL games in protest of racism and police brutality. Former ESPN employee Jemele Hill has been tapped to produce the series after leaving the network in 2018 due to political differences.

The Disney partnership comes as the free agent quarterback has secured multiple deals to produce projects about himself and topics including racial inequality. He has already announced plans to release a memoir under his publishing company, and he will also be writing and conducting interviews for Medium, after joining the blogging platform's board of directors. Kap's Netflix limited series with Ava DuVernay will delve into his formative teenage years.
