Editor's Notes: Fashion shows; they're great fun, right? For the impatient amongst us, myself included, their greatest soon wares off once you find yourself running circles around your mind, counting down an undisclosed number of days until a specific item or collaboration that caught your eye arrivals at retail.

Sometimes, more often than not, you find yourself waiting for what feels like a lifetime for even just a nugget of information, a taster, perhaps, of when your capitalist tournament might end.

As a self-diagnosed sneaker lover, I tend to keep my eyes firmly planted to the ground when fashion show season rolls around, as that's where the biggest goodies tend to lay.

For brands and luxury houses of all sizes, snatching up a Nike, adidas, Li-Ning, or the like, has become an essential part of the feng shui of it all.

Few have mastered the art of sportswear sneaker collaborations quite like COMME des GARÇONS. A favored partner of the Swoosh, CDG has a seriously impressive arsenal of collaborative kicks within its archive, spanning some of Nike's biggest and baddest silhouettes of all time.

Next up is a banger that we've been eyeballing since CDG's mainline menswear collection, HOMME PLUS, debuted its Fall/Winter 2022 collection, "Nomad," earlier this year – the ever iconic Air Max 97.

Spotted in two beautifully minimalist colorways of grey and black or white and blue, official images of the collaborative pair have finally arrived from COMME des GARÇONS itself, and they're just as perfect as we'd first thought.

The sneakers sport gorgeous two-tone uppers that mix mesh with nubuck leather, with the darker pair in particular making the most of its faux-distressed detailing.

Otherwise, they're pretty normal Air Max 97s, complete with single-toned soles and sockliners. Nothing wrong with wearable shoes, though: they're what people seem to want most from Nike right now.
