Editor's Notes: If you are familiar with Carne Bollente, then it will come as no surprise that its latest Fall/Winter collection is titled "Cum Now". But if you aren't familiar with the Parisian sex-positive label, then I best warn you that the raunchy innuendos aren't going to end there.
Founded in 2015, since its inception the label has been on a mission to spread its message of sex positivity and inclusivity and it has stated on Instagram that "this collection is the culmination of our past work."
It was first introduced to us through a lookbook shot via mirror selfies inside a silver elevator, featuring models and friends of the brand striking a pose and most likely hoping the door doesn't slide open to present a stranger wanting to go to the top floor.
But now it is finally available to shop, and this time its founders Hijiri Endo, Théodore Famery, and Agoston Palinko have upped the ante. While its SS22 collection was filled with pussy towels and foot fetish socks, this time it has dropped a long sleeve top depicting a "hundred-some", the "Discovery Channel T-Shirt" which features photos of animals doing the deed, and much more.
Alongside the explicit references, one of which is as obvious as a scarf with the word "SEX" printed in bold font across it, there are some more subtle cheeky references — the type that you could get away with wearing in front of a conservative older relative without being on the other end of a sneering look.
These are mostly in the form of prints that cover the entirety of a garment — something that is becoming a signature trope of the label.
This season, standout styles include a scene in which people are naked dancing in a field that covers the entirety of a shirt and a long-sleeve top, and a fleece jacket created in collaboration with the artist Pepo Moreno which features his playful illustrations across the body.
Once again, the label has managed to turn risqué themes into easily wearable winterwear.
