Double Tap to Zoom

As far as music releases go, March has been a very good month. And this week was just as solid. From more Afrobeats moments, hip-hop bangers to slow-burning R&B, the artists we love gave us a lot to listen to. But you don't have to navigate all of that, just tune into our Highsnobiety Soundystem 50 playlist below for a personal curation of our 50 favorite new releases! But first, dive into our editor's picks below.

The Best New Music You Need to Hear (& Why)

1 Juice WRLD - Sometimes - I'm still not the biggest fan of posthumous releases. And since he passed in 2019, Juice WRLD has had more releases that when he was alive. It's conflicting because even under the tragic circumastances, Juice's voice and lyrical ability always stirs us up as if he was still here.

2 Syd - CYBAH (ft. Lucky Daye) - Few things are more gorgeous than Syd's smooth vocals over a grungy R&B beat. Add Lucky Daye to that and an album announcement and we're on cloud 9.

3 Rema - FYN (ft. AJ Tracey) - Rema is the moment. The Nigerian afro-pop prodigy has steadily been weaving a discography of inimitable bangers. This time the 21-year-old linked up with AJ Tracey to unleash another jam.

4 Fivio Foreign - Magic City (ft. Quavo) - Just a week out form dropping his debut album The Bible, Fivio Foreign gives us another taste of what's to come with high-energy drill-trap hit featuring Quavo.

5 Smallgod - Falling (ft. Darkoo & KiDi) - Almost a year after his debut Pan-African compilation album, Ghana's Smallgod is back with another single and the promise of another world-conquering body of work. This time he recruits Darkoo and KiDi for a modern highlife lovesong.
