Your Favorite New Balance Sneakers Just Got Fresh Colorways
Ever since New Balance first started gaining hype for its classic dad sneakers a few years ago, it has not taken its foot off the peddle and it's now a certified main player in the sneaker scene.
From re-releasing its classic 550 model and it flying off shop shelves to tapping Aimé Leon Dore's Teddy Santis to be Creative Director for its Made In USA line, the brand has got sneaker fans in a chokehold — and that's before we even mention the collabs.
But in between all of that hype, its general release drops manage to hit the same levels of classic sneaker perfection.
The latest sees the American footwear label add winter-ready fabrics to a range of its most popular shoes which includes contemporary takes on its archive and the newest models that have graced shelves.
We've been on the hunt to update our fall sneaker rotation with both all-black and colorful sneakers, and New Balance has brought us the best of both in its latest drops. Browse our favorites below.

New Balance 2002
New Balance's archive of fire sneakers seems to be unlimited and the 2002R is one of the many retro shoes the label has brought back and equipped with a contemporary update. Keeping the mixed-material upper that the shoe originally boasted in 2002, it has been given a new sole unit with ABZORB cushioning in the midsole and N-ergy shock-absorbing in the outsole for extra comfort.
The protection pack models continue to sell out at record speeds, but don't let that distract you from the vast array of colorways the brand has on offer.
New Balance 530
As with so many of New Balance's other models, the 530 started life as a cutting-edge running shoe before being re-issued and finding itself as a fan favorite amongst sneaker enthusiasts looking for retro runner models.
Initially released in 1992, the shoe continues to deliver a sporty 90s look through all the silver accents that can be found on many of its newest colorways.
New Balance 550/650
You only need to have a quick browse at the prices on resale sites such as StockX to know that the re-release of the New Balance 550, and its hi-top variant the 650, have been a big success for the brand. The 80s basketball shoe has such a timeless look that we have speculated it could rival the Nike Air Force 1.
While the Aime Leon Dore collaborative variations are a must-have grail for sneaker obsessives, I'd argue that the vast amount of general release colorways available are equally as nice and they have (slightly) slower sell-out times.
New Balance 99x series
When the New Balance 990 was first released in the early 1980s it became the first running shoe with a three-figure price tag, created with the newest technologies at the time and starting the 99x series. Since that release the shoe has been through countless iterations, improving its fit and molding it more into a lifestyle sneaker.
While there are almost too many variations of sneakers in the 99x series to name, here are some of the best from its recent releases.
New Balance 9060
Take the 99X series, combine it with elements from early 2000s runners such as the 860, exaggerate the proportions a bit, and then you have New Balance's brand-new model for 2022.
The chunky sneaker had a good start to life as it was introduced to us through a Joe Freshgoods collaboration which set it up for the success it has seen in its short time on the market. Since then, it has come in a range of colorways such as the ones below and has been given the Y2K treatment by Mowalola.
New Balance 1906
When New Balance gave the 1906 the protection pack treatment at the start of this year, we knew it was going to be a good year for the model. Since then, it has seen itself at the center of multiple collaborations with Size? as well as new iterations being teased on the runway by Auralee and COMME des GARÇONS.
Trying to keep up with which New Balance model is most in demand has proven to be difficult work as of late, but the 1906 is certainly up there.
