From Brain Dead to Wacko Maria, Our Favorite Brands Are Nailing Homeware
Streetwear's foray into homeware is no new journey by any means. Supreme has been dropping goods fit for the living room for more than 10 years. 2008's ashtray and 2011's collab "FUCK" rug with Gallery 1950 being two examples in a lengthy list. But right now, the homeware game seems stronger than ever among the brands we worship. Name a label and it's likely they'll list rugs, mugs, vases or even spoons among their apparel too.
From Japanese players including NEIGHBORHOOD and Wacko Maria to American streetwear purveyors such as Carharrt and Stüssy, a multitude of brands are offering pieces for the more inspired interior. As if replenishing our wardrobes with coveted goods wasn't enough, we have to think about our homes too? With stuff this good, though, we're not complaining.
Scroll on for our favorite homeware pieces around right now.
Ceramics, Glass, and Ornaments
What constitutes an ornament is pretty loose these days. From skate decks to basketballs, this arena has come a long way from the stag head fixed to the wall, thankfully. A Wacko Maria or Noon Goons ashtray is just the kind of unnecessary essential that makes us so excited about the homeware game right now. And who doesn't need an AMBUSH udon spoon set?
Rugs, Mats, and Textiles
Dressing your bedroom floor is now a must. We perhaps reach peak designer carpet when Virgil Abloh stamped his signature quotation marks on an IKEA rug. Since then, we've been treated to highlight floor garments by the likes of Brain Dead and Parra.
Miscellaneous Homeware
As you'll now be aware, it's possible to deck your place out top to bottom in homeware with a label. Even soap dispensers aren't safe anymore.
