We’ll always be here for sneakers, but this summer we’ve enjoyed seeing the rise of more appropriate summer footwear, from mules and slides to techy sandals and even flip-flops. Flip-flops, in particular, might seem a less "conventional" city footwear choice because of their minimal build and strong ties to beach culture. But it’s exactly that minimalist appeal and the laidback lifestyle they symbolize that’s winning over the hearts (and feet) of style-conscious urbanites the world over.

As the master of everything flip-flop-related, it’s no surprise that Havaianas is leading the charge in validating flip-flops’ place in city life. Its newest silhouette, the Tradi Zori, is built with a chunkier sole making it easier to pair with pants, and its collaborations with Mastermind, Saint Laurent, Reality To Idea, and most recently BAPE, have helped cement its place in fashion.

But don't just take our word for it. If you’re still on the fence, take a look at some of the best outfits on the Internet worn with the BAPE x Havaianas' collab, and some advice on how to wear them.

Just be comfy, stop thinking about how to wear flip-flops! I choose two pairs — the classic Top with the OG BAPE camo, cause I love to see this green camo, and the Tradi Zori, which is the most comfortable pair of flip-flops I've ever worn.

I honestly wear flip-flops with anything. If you can wear the outfit with sneakers, 9/10 times it also works with flip flops and slides! It just gives it that effortless look which I really like. My favorite way to wear them is with some wide jeans and a tighter top.

I usually use flip-flops not only on the beach but also in the city, although I don't think too much about how to style them. I like to use it not only for casual styles but also as a way to dress down classic styles. A feeling of relaxation is expressed by combining it with wide trousers!

I like to style flip-flops with some oversized or wide-fitting trousers and from the base of the trousers I build up my outfit.

What I love about these flip-flops is the subtle touch of the camo. When it’s on foot, it’s not so obvious and it’s easy to play with the colors. You can definitely play with the BAPE camo and do a monochrome look. Like all green, with some brown and white touches — or play it crazy and mix patterns!

Styling flip-flops depends on if you wanna wear them with or without socks. If you decide to wear socks I would try to match the socks with an element of the upper body but make it look effortless. Without socks, I would try to match the sole of the flip-flop with an element of the whole outfit. In general, I keep the whole fit very cozy and effortless. The Tradi Zori, with its high and thick soles, is perfect for summer looks but can also be part of a cozy, chic look too.

I love combining them with long, wide-leg pants. It's such a classic and comfy look. I’ve also seen people rock their pair with socks, which I think is a super nice idea as well.
