Audi today has officially unveiled its 2019 R8 supercar, featuring both the coupe and Spyder droptop variations boasting a more aggressive design and renewed focus on driving dynamics.

In terms of its makeup, the model retains its signature curvy profile but the front section bears an angular layout. The vents located above the remodeled wide central grille are meant to evoke Audi's classic Quattro model from the '80s, and moving towards the back, is a redesigned rear diffuser with a central vent, along with the addition of 20-inch wheels that are optional.

Audi says that the 2019 R8 is now "even more powerful and faster," with upgraded 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engines in two output ratings, and the German automaker also assures that the 2019 R8s' handling will be even better with a modified suspension, claiming "more stability and precision." Both the electromechanically assisted power steering and the optional dynamic steering systems have been retuned for more road feedback and better response, while three new driving modes consisting of dry, wet, and snow -- have been added to the R8's Dynamic Select system. In addition, the stability control has been improved for better braking performance.

Furthermore, three new exterior packages, depending on the engine type chosen are offered, as the packages add various highlights to the front splitter, the side trims and the diffuser. Lastly, two new finishes consisting of Kemora Gray and Ascari Blue have been added to the color palette.

Availability for the 2019 Audi R8 Coupe and Spyder models begin during the first quarter of 2019 at dealerships in Germany and select European countries, while its arrival stateside has yet to announced.
