Audi's Nines Bike Contest Is Taking Place in a Moon-like Stone Quarry
This year's legendary Audi Nines MTB event is taking place near Bikepark Idarkopf, which will open in 2019. The best mountain bikers from all across the globe will gather in a stone quarry to take on the Rhineland-Palatinate region of Germany.
For this particular event, riders will be joined by the winners of the “FOCUS Become a Nine” online video contest, which is now accepting submissions for those who want to participate in Audi Nines MTB 2018.
20 of the best freeride and slopestyle mountain bikers in the world have already confirmed their attendance for the event, which is themed “Send it to the Moon!” due to the quarry's moon-like landscape. The course at Bikepark Idarkopf boasts 14 elements, some of which float in the pond at the bottom of the quarry.
“At this location we can build one of the best courses in the history of mountain biking,” says Sam Reynolds. “We’re really excited to take on this challenge to create something truly extraordinary.”
Audi Nines MTB 2018 is going down September 8 to September 13. For more on the contest, follow here.
