Apple has announced Apple News+ today, which is an updated subscription-based Apple News service that includes news and in-depth journalism from renowned publishers, as well as exclusive content from popular newsstand magazine brands. The company also announced its streaming service Apple TV+, and this comes after a previous article by BuzzFeed in February, indicating that the Cupertino tech giant will be launching a news subscription service this month.

For each subscription to Apple News+, users can have access to over 300 popular magazines, newspapers and digital publishers, with topics covering everything from entertainment, fashion and news, to politics, health, lifestyle and travel. Subscribers can also access current and past issues, as well as individual articles from magazines such as The Atlantic, Condé Nast Traveler, GQ, National Geographic, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, Vogue and more. Newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Toronto Star and others are offered.

Additionally, with Apple News+, the app displays the magazines in specially designed layouts with animated covers, vivid images and bold typography, all optimized perfectly for Apple's devices. Specifically, in the Today and News+ tabs, subscribers will be presented with individual articles and issue recommendations based on both editorial curation and personalized suggestions.

Furthermore, the News+ tab is split into a My Magazines section with categories such as Browse the Catalog, Featured, Business & Finance, and Travel, all of which are human curated by Apple News editors.

Apple News+ is available now and priced at $9.99 a month in the US and $12.99 a month in Canada, where it is available in both English and French. A one-month free trial of the service is also being offered.
