Last month, Apple hosted its annual event where it revealed the anticipated iPhone 13, as well as a handful of other exciting products and software. Already, the tech giant is making more headlines with its second event of the season, "Unleashed, which was livestreamed on October 18.

Specifically, Apple has announced two revamped MacBook Pros, 14" and 16" editions fitted with the M1 Pro or M1 Max chips, respectively. Available in the very tame silver or space grey colors, Apple's latest laptops will retail for $1,999 and $2,499.

It's a real bummer to see Apple sticking to its wheelhouse of sterile grey and silver colors — especially for the money, would it kill them to do a blacked-out MacBook?

Anyways, the smaller edition is a tiny 16.8mm and weighs in at only 4.7 pounds, offering a lot of tech in a tiny package. Both flavors of MacBook Pro boast 64 gigabytes of unified memory and super high-res screens that enable ridiculously crisp displays on the go. There's also no Touch bar anymore, for some reason.

Apple touted the laptops' utility with a quick series of interviews with experts behind apps like Cinema 4D and Adobe Premiere Pro, who reiterate the usefulness of being able to use even these energy-intensive apps while untethered from the office.

Really, the MacBook Pro is a tool for the, well, pros. Apple's "Unleashed" event really doubled down to how useful its new Pro devices are for developers, designers, programmers, editors, and publishers, reiterating new Pro laptops' battery life and innate power.

Customers can choose between two different MacBook Pros, distinguished by the aforementioned new chips.

The M1 Max, in particular, is Apple's biggest chip to date though both the Pro and Max dwarf the original M1 in speed, power, and general performance. Apple boasts that these two chips deliver 1.7x better performance while cutting down power up to 70% when compared to the leading comparable PC chip.

For a few months, whispers of redesigned 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops rumbled across social media and, as usual, the rumors were mostly on point. They didn't quite nail the specificities of the chips but, otherwise, not bad.

Also at this event, the Cupertino-based company also introduced brand new third-generation AirPods, complete with adaptive EQ borrowed from the AirPods Pro and spatial audio capabilities, and Apple Music features like heightened Siri connectivity and thematic playlists.
