The fact Adsum and Gramicci have never collaborated until now is absolutely wild to me. The duo, who recently dropped their first co-release, have so much in common that I’m finding a 2023 debut pretty hard to comprehend. Impossible, in fact.

Focused on functionality? Check. Dead set on making well-designed everyday garments? Check. Fans of the great outdoors? Big fat check. That being said, good things come to those who wait — and lord knows we’ve waited!

Adsum, arriving fresh from the release of its Spring/Summer 2023 collection (a capsule which once again displayed the brand’s penchant for elevating everyday basics), is in cahoots with Gramicci this season to deliver an offering exactly as you’d expect.

Despite being exactly what I expected — functional, hard-wearing, and very nice — it’ll still hit the spot of any Adsum or Gramicci appreciator, or anyone "outdoorsy" for that.

At the center of the collection is the photo print cargo pant, a black and white all over repeat print of old marketing photos from the 1990s. The pant riffs on details from the original G Pant created in 1982, with ample room through the seat, hip and thigh.

Another highlight is the Shell Gear Short, an internally belted short, constructed from a water resistant active shell material composed of 100% recycled nylon filament yarns. The large, main hand pockets wrap from front panel to the back panel over the side seam and can carry large loads.

Alongside a slew of graphic tees, full zip hoodies, and workshirts arrives the Tulip Hat, a two-sided bucket hat designed to provide 360 degree sun protection for your coconut, with one side donning the OG Gramicci photo collage and the other a solid Dusted Purple. A treat on both the eyes and the head.

The collection — which landed online earlier this week — is yet another example of how two brands with a similar DNA and outlook on the world of clothing can collaborate with effect, and also proof that it doesn’t always have to be a simple logo jobby.
